Zippys was established in 2009 by Peter and Alice Grant and has been keeping the East Coast of Northland refreshed ever since. They put a lot of dedication, time and love into building up a foundation, legacy and a brand that continues to thrive to this day
In 2021 Zippys was given a new lease of life when it was taken over by Jess Pyle, a local who’s been a familiar face in the Northland hospitality industry for 12 years, and George Chandler, a Brit who came here on holiday once and couldn’t escape. We want to retain the character and quirks of Zippys, but also aim to modernize the business, keep on doing what it was doing well, and make improvements where it needs it. Just like the previous owners, we aim to be as sustainable as possible by using as little packaging as possible and recycling everything we can. You can see more about how we do this here.
The pandemic , has put a few of our expansion plans on hold for now, but we plan to eventually plan to introduce more products into our range so as to be able to offer full lunch or breakfast options as well as just refreshments.
